Hi all, I have searched other threads and can't find what I am looking for.
On my 2000 tazz 1.3, I have swapped the cluster with a 1999 tazz 1.6. (Reason for change is the added rev counter)
Everything works except the fuel gauge.
I tested the gauge by applying 12v to it and the needle moved to full albeit slowly (is that normal?), reversed polarity and it went to empty.
When plugged into the car the needle does not move, ignition on or started. I removed the fuel sender and moved the float by hand and the fuel gauge moved in both directions.
Do I need to replace the fuel sender to a 1.6 sender or should this just have worked.
Spoke to a mechanic and he said that the gauge wont work due to difference in resistance and suggested that the sender be replaced with a 1.6 sender.
Appreciate any advice on this.
