Need advise on purchasing a clutch !!

Spoke to a few guys concerning what type of clutch I should install on my
car when it is converted to manual ..

Wanted to go for a button clutch but hear it is terrible to drive in traffic
and besides it eats away on your fly wheel when driving in traffic ...

Was advised to just put in a normal clutch because it will still launch the
car well .. But don't want to have to open the box again anytime
in the near future to change the clutch kit yet again !!!

What about double plated clutch ??

Or I am wasting my time ... PLS ADVISE !!!!!

Double plated clutch just means that the clutch plate itself is stronger(they add an extra set of fins to the plate). For your application u have to look at the friction material used on the clutch. Normal non-asbestos facing used on the normanl clutch is also used on heavy duty clutches. To make a long story short it wont last as long as a button clutch and it wont give u the same amount of friction. It will however be easier to drive.

I'll go for a normal clutch unless you are planning same mayor turbos etc on your car and do not intend to use it for everyday use :D

Need to drive my car every now & again to kick some
VR6s .. GTIs .. GSIs .. etc !!!!

Think I will settle for the normal clutch until I TURBO her ...
And the day will come :twisted:

Until then need to enjoy it in traffic too ..
Whatz the point of having a quick car when u can only
drag it .. there are so many ******* that need to be thought
a lesson on a daily basis !!!!!
