Toyota corolla GLI twincam 16v starting problems Urgent

Postby Azgar » Mon Nov 05, 2007 11:14 am

Hi

i am having problems starting my car up the car is swinging and sounds like there is no petrol in the car and yes there is fuel in
The fuel pump also seems ok.
I have checked the leads from the distributor to the spark plugs and there is no spark at the end of the leads.I have also checked the coil and if there is power on it i even replaced the coil as well.
Still the car wont start

Please can some1 try and assist with what else it could be Urgent.

Thanks,

How did the problem start?
Maybe try another ignition module.

Howzit Bru!

If itz a chissel shape GLi - check for 10A(yellow) injector fuse holder situated near the airbox- if the fuse holder not making full contact motor will just swing an not take...

Another is check your alarm system, preferably overide it before starting your vehicle...

good luck fault finding!

I was driving and came to a stop and the car just died. Tried swing but nothing was happening. But about a 2 weeks before that I had the starter done. But the starter is swinging, so I dont think its anything to do with the starter. If the ignition module is busted will it still swing?

No, its a 92 exec Gli . I've notice that this fuse holders also sits at the airbox. Does the 10A fuse look like a normal fuse or is it like a relay type thing

I think it could be that too. I'even change the Ignitor that sits on the firewall but still nothing. What does these computer boxes go for?

Check your distributor!

Had a frend of mine that had the similar experience, '93 Twincam Rsi while cruising around town the warning light's came on and the car just went dead. tried everything and she wouldnt take.

Luck had it that our toyota mech was around in town, he had a look tried couple of things and still not take.

had the car towed to his home, he removed the dizzy, sumthing was cracked inside. sent it to the distributor repair guyz. had it repaired,

Car started 1shot....
