After market management VS Chip logic
howsit Guys which is actually better? Unichip or Aftermarket management? I just spoke to some company now... i know the name but dont want to dig like BFORKED lol so yeah i wont mention it...but they quoted me R3500 for unichip to be installed with a dyno ..... thats less bit expensive compared to after market management considering how little work it takes for one to install a unichip aftermarket management takes time yet only R1000 difference ? .... thats with installation and a map preloaded also which will i be able to tune to the max considering il be doing some Cams, head work, throttles etc etc.... so yeah guys lets hear it from people who have experienced it.... unichip or aftermarket management? Thanks in advance

Re: After market management VS Chip logic
Most guys go for full management cos they have Rxi's (which cant use a chip) or are running swopped engines to replace the ecu. A chip is more than adequate to get the most out of your mods. Note Xrsi's, vtecs, polo gtis etc all use chips primarily. The unichip Q is about the most advanced option from the chips. it allows you to adjust practically everything and has 5 maps that you can switch between (using your cell phone via bluetooth..very cool). Each map can be customised on a dyno and saved. For eg, map1 can be a race map, map2 can be an economical map, map3 can be used for high torque for towing, and map4 you can set the limiter to 3000rpm if some1s borrowing your cab etc etc A cool map would be to set no ignition spark, use it as an imobiliser. If i could id go for say Unichip Q....R1k is alota money to do the same thing

Re: After market management VS Chip logic
yes its a straight plug and play for the series 3. Not sure about the prices but i paid 2500 for a std unichip 3yrs back with fitting so for the unichip Q i think 3500 is reasonable. You can buy it from the shelf but these shelves are usually in stores which know how to use the software ie they have been trained. It might work out cheaper to buy it but getting someone who knows what they doing is another story, its a new interface from the old ones so beware.

Howzit bru. The price you got is rather expensive, try Tuneserv thats if you in durban. They are between 2.8-3k for the uni q. I could be wrong, bt the last time I checked, they were the most reasonable and they do top work. Worth giving them a shout.

Worth giving them a shout. we charge R3250 for supplying, fitting and tuning with before and after dyno runs. i think tuneserv charges about R3500
