this motor the lexus v8 i'm sure is the 3.0litre motor. I know at schalk modifications in jhb they fitted the 2jzte motors to the box corolla but had to cut firewall to fit. Some guys are mad about power. I am sure by cutting the fire wall, this motor will also fit. However i stand to be corrected. All the best bro

Thankx,i dont think i would go to that extreme to cut the firewall, however if i dont buy this motor then would have to hunt for a 3sgte (would prefer the beams editions) will keep you guys posted.

Lexus V8 is 4L, that conversion sounds like a moerse lot of work.

Personally I dont like the 3sgate because:
1) Its expensive
2) Pistons are made of glass & the first sign of det will break ring langings
3) Dont make much more power than the 4age's
4) Its heavy motor.

my bad. I thought that lexus v8 motor from the old is300 lexus therefore thought was a 3.0litre.
Glass pistons? Thats mad now wat glass can withstand hot oil and high melting temperatures yoh.
Maki, i suggest do this, buy the rear wheel drive 4age motor with gear box. If i aint mistaken its ten grand. After that u can put side draughts with cams or rather gas flow and port the head and turbo it
after you put ur low compression pistons and new con rods and all that. You wont go wrong.

Thankx guys, the lexus project is out the window.Called manny marinho he advised he can do the conversion but its not ideal and costly.I checked out a twincam motor with a turbo lastnite, however how do i tell if its a big port motor or not? their isnt any injection system so i cant tell. How can one tell the difference without having the two motors to compare against.

good idea callin Manny. He knows his stuff. How can it not have the injection system bro? I dont understand. It could be possible cause carb motors dont use injection. They aint electrical, they work on mechanical based. Anyway check the tapet cover. Series 3 is small port, the boggy cords are covered and only the cables come out all through one end. Other then that series 1 and 2 boggy cords are open. U can c them.
Unless the guy changed this then i dont know. You mean the tvis system aint there. The series 3 not tvis. Only 1 and 2 work with that injection variable system.

The lexus v8 conversion has been done and as far as i understand to cutting has to be done. To make it work you need a cressida or supra box with a modified bellhousing and you have to make the prop shorter and modified the gear stick. It does make about 200kw and 360nm and the vvti makes about 230kw and 400nm. you might need a stronger diff as well.

hi!!

was doing a search and this came up, and though, wow, haven't been here for a while!!

the beauty of the lexus v8 conversion is that the way it makes its power
huge amounts of power from 1000rpm

self busy with such a conversion into my 4x4

these are magic motors
and the best part is that if it does break, you dont repair, you just replace with another one, they are that cheap!!

they rev standard to 6800rpm

yes for a rwd corrola some cutting will be needed, however that must be a blast, flywheels and bellhousings are available almost off the shelf!!

to have someone do it is around 60k, to do it self, will get my conversion done for under 25k, admittedly no cutting needed

have fun!! :D

lol, not really glass, but just as fragile i have heard too :laughing3:

the ser 3 4AGE has a pipe from head to block for oil drain, the ser two does not have this, neither the ser 1. its on rear of head, when facing the cam cover its on left rear.

ser 1 does not have seven ribs on block, not a ideal motor for boosting.

these V8's are awesome, I had a turbo charged one in my 200SX but took it out due to the sports compact rules not allowing V8, busy with a 2JZ conversion.

very strong, fitted a manual box on it too, the auto didn't like the power too much.
